We’re coming up on when Cub Scouts who have earned the Arrow of Light Award crossover to Scouts BSA. This makes is a great time for youth who are new to scouting to join our troop.
We are a troop for not only Boy Scouts, but girls too. Our girls are in Troop 2612, with it’s own Scoutmaster and youth officers, which, in company with our boy troop, Troop 0612, falls under our umbrella number of 612. In addition to being a troop for boys and girls, we also have a Cub Scout pack chartered by the same church, which when we’re back in person, meets downstairs at the same times as us, eliminating the need for multiple trips for the differently aged Scouts. We meet weekly on Zoom (or in person once this pandemic is over) on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM, and have monthly virtual campouts. We do our best to ensure Scout engagement at all meetings, and plan fun events for our Scouts to enjoy. We do community service projects when possible (which is less often now) and are based in the middle of San Lorenzo, at the San Lorenzo Community Church.
If this article has interested any Webelos, or young people from ages 11-17, in the prospect of joining our troop, please check us out on the Scout Me In! website at tinyurl.com/join612.
